  “It’s becoming more and more clear that the obsession with eating meat and dairy products and eggs is totally destroying the environment.”  This week, renowned anthropologist, animal activist, and Conservationist Jane Goodall released a cookbook to encourage people to go plant-based. EatMeatless: Good for Animals – the first-ever cookbook released by The Jane Goodall Institute on 23rd March offers around 80 plant-based recipes including breakfast dishes, soups, salads, mains, and desserts that promise to be both healthy and inspiring. The book has been published by Simon & Schuster and includes a foreword as well as quotes of wisdom interspersed throughout by the veteran. [Recipe] How to Make Vegan Oatmeal Banana Bread: An Easy Vegan Recipe

This oatmeal banana bread is easy to make and is a creative activity for children. Mashing bananas with a fork until smooth is oddly satisfying and you can show your child that plant-based alternatives like almond milk and dairy-free butter work and taste just as good, if not better than the real thing.  The first step is simply preheating the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, then follow three easy instructions to mix the ingredients and add them to a loaf baking pan. The process will only take you five minutes then you will let your bread bake for 35 minutes as your kitchen fills with a warm, delicious scent.  Once the time is up, use a toothpick to test whether the middle of the bread is cooked through. If you want to add an optional dairy-free glaze then blend together vegan cream cheese and sugar for a cream cheese frosting. Continue

Before she went vegan, Turner says her diet was incredibly restrictive. “There were so many trigger foods, such as broccoli, cauliflower, tomato-based foods,” she says. “But once I did get the diagnosis, I actually cut out dairy. That was a huge relief for me.”

[News] World’s Largest Vegan Film Festival Announces First-Ever Vegan Cookbook Competition

The International Vegan Film Festival, an incorporated not-for-profit, is a trailblazing event dedicated to celebrating the vegan ideal: a healthier, more compassionate, environmentally friendly lifestyle that can be achieved through the consumption of plants and animal-free alternatives. The world’s largest vegan film festival is launching its first-ever vegan cookbook competition. International Vegan Film Festival (IVFF)’s new contest aims to become ‘the world’s leading plant-based cookbook celebration’. Each September, the Festival will announce a shortlist of eligible cookbooks, selected by a jury of passionate and experienced vegan cooks.
